The Senate Tuesday resolved to have Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan as Acting President until President Umar Musa Yar'Adua returns from his medical trip abroad and is fit to return to his position.

The senate resolution Tuesday was the climax of intensive lobbying by both Pro-Jonathan Senators and the Pro-Yar'Adua group in the upper legislative House.

It would be recalled that the Governors Forum, the Arewa Consultative Forum and even the Information Minister Prof. Dora Akunyili, have all called for the official recognition of Jonathan Goodluck as acting President pending the full recovery of ailing President Yar'Adua who has been away for over 70 days on medical trip in Saudi Arabia.
