The Senate Tuesday resolved to have Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan as Acting President until President Umar Musa Yar'Adua returns from his medical trip abroad and is fit to return to his position.

The senate resolution Tuesday was the climax of intensive lobbying by both Pro-Jonathan Senators and the Pro-Yar'Adua group in the upper legislative House.

It would be recalled that the Governors Forum, the Arewa Consultative Forum and even the Information Minister Prof. Dora Akunyili, have all called for the official recognition of Jonathan Goodluck as acting President pending the full recovery of ailing President Yar'Adua who has been away for over 70 days on medical trip in Saudi Arabia. Details later...

At last the Senate have performed the rightfull duty! To God be the glory. I wonder what the Minister of Justice (Aodoaka) will say. I WISH YARDUA QUICK RECOVERY.

The Nigerian senate waisted time in doing the right thing because of the golden opportunity they had in milking the treasure of the nation. Who says Nigeria can not be good if our leaders want. corruption has eaten deep into the fibers of our leaders or politicians. The density of surffering of the masses has drastically increased. i move along the streets in Lagos and weep at the expression of poverty on people. The only solution to this anomaly i believe is to hold unto GOD. Why has the senate suddenly woken up from their slumber?

First, Sanni you can name all your children Goodluck, but pray that they are not deprived of the LUCK. Secondly, its really a show of shame that a country of ours is into this kind of mess. I used to think Yar' adua is reasonable until the events that unfolded. I dont wish and will never want to be a politician, i think that is where his problem started. anyway, let's countinue to pray and watch as events take turn concerning Goodluck's matter. I feel sad for this country Nigeria, especially in the manner our leaders direct the affairs. Thank you all

It is at a point like this that the real patriotism come into play. it is the time we the Nigerians know who loves cares about Nigeria as a nation who nuture and cloth her in cold moment of hers like this. We as well have seen so many of them who only want to since the little opportunity in their office and capitalize on the President sickness to milk the our nation to death. God forbid it will soon cut up with them. I pray they will see no leave to cover their nakedness like Adam in his own time so that they will reap the devidends of their selfishness.

Is this for real or another money sharing gimmick? We all know the Senate and indeed the entire House of Assembly hardly take decisions without having something to show for it in their bank accounts. For those of us who still believe in this country, this House/Senate can't save us. We have to find other means of freeing ourselves and that means must not include the Military.
