Mercy Nnenda Chinwo is an award-winning Nigerian gospel singer, with a thrilling voice. Her singles are widely known, particularly Excess love and Chinedum. Chinwo was born in Port-Harcourt, Nigeria. She got involved in music at an early age in her church choir, won Nigerian Idol Season 2 in 2012, and released her first single in 2015, titled ‘Testimony’.
This admirable music artist and actress, Mercy Chinwo, was born on the 5th of September 1990 in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. She is the fourth child and first daughter in a family of five.

Mercy acted in House of Gold, a Ghanian Nigerian Comedy film produced by Yvonne Nelson, in 2013. She acted as Lucia in the movie, starring alongside Omawumi, Yvonne Nelson, Majid Michel, Francis Odega, among others. This was a year after she won Nigerian Idol season 2 in 2012.
Mercy Nenda Chinwo was awarded the best Gospel Artiste at the CLIMAX Awards 2018. Moreover, at the maiden edition of the Africa Gospel Awards Festival (AGAFEST 2019), Mercy Chinwo was named winner in three categories, namely: Africa Gospel New Artist of the Year, Africa Gospel song of the year (Excess Love), and Africa Gospel Female Artiste of the year. Other singers nominated in these categories are Sinach, Prospa Ochimana, and Tim Godffery. She won Gospel Artiste of the Year in Galaxy Music Awards, 2019, and she has won other awards.
