Jonathan’ll disappoint Nigerians if he doesn’t contest — Group

The Delta State chapter of Goodluck Support Group (GSG) says President Goodluck Jonathan will disappoint Nigerians if he fails to contest for the 2011 presidential race.

In a statement signed by state coordinator of the group, Chief Young Esiekpe, the group posited that Nigerians would be disappointed because his ascension to the number one seat of the country was as a result of divine intervention.

Esiekpe, a former member of the then Bendel State House of Assembly, reiterated that Jonathan as president today is as a result of the answer to prayers of Nigerians for God to give them a good leader and they have seen qualities of good leadership in him, and that is why they are all clamouring for him to declare his intention.

According to him, “the most important thing about Goodluck Jonathan is that he is a very simple and humble man. He has never made any pronouncement that threatens the interest of any section of this country. He has been able to reform the electoral system because that was one thing Nigerians were yearning for; he promised the people that when he assumes office he will give us good electoral laws. And in actualizing that, few weeks ago he signed the Electoral Act into law.

“In the past, we have suffered a lot of fuel scarcity to the extent that people slept at fuel stations but now it is a matter of
driving in and coming out with stable prize of N65 even some fuel stations sell at N64 now. Power supply has improved,

if we want to be sincere to ourselves, PHCN was never like this before he came. There is light almost everyday now but it wasn’t like this before”.
