Season of Mastery is really shaping up to be a memorable experience, and the huge changes really could make this game something special! Here MmoGah.com would like to share with you these huge changes in Season of Mastery.

There are some crazy changes from Blizzard, and the Adventure Awaits buff grants additional experience on Dungeon and Elite quests.

I did the math on a quest after doing Ragefire Chasm (RFC) run. You can't gain too much experience when you're low level, but it's a nice boost. Due to its low-level requirement, straightforward progression path, and elementary mechanics, it is widely considered to be the easiest dungeon in the game.

Soul of Iron Hardcore Update

Now there is an insane Hardcore update. It is a community gaming mode developed to give an extra level of challenge to players. One life, if you die, you have to delete your character. Hardcore fans are going to be super happy to hear about this.

There are some new High Elf Watchers that have made an appearance in the Ironforge and Undercity, seeking to Chronicle the feats of strength of those who want to do this hardcore challenge.

If you go there, and you have not died on your character, you can sign up and get a buff on your character that is called Soul of Iron. It is a new buff that you can choose.

When you opt into the Soul of Iron challenge, you will get the tooltip on your buff bar indicating the character's challenge. This buff will always exist on your character as long as you have not died yet.

This is very awesome because once you die, you will spit out a Soul of Iron, granting a debuff on your character that reduces all your stats by 1% called Tarnished Soul. Don't worry because this debuff can be removed by revisiting the High Elf Watcher, and you can ask it to remove the branding that you've died. However, the original tooltip says "Never Known Defeat". If you lose that, it shows that your character has died while trying the Soul of Iron challenge.

When you die, you actually leave behind a Soul of Iron on the ground, which is kind of like in Dark Souls. When someone dies, there are some markings left on the ground. It looks like the corpse of a Haunting Phantasm creature, and I think it is really cool.

Now there are no other restrictions, which is kind of cool actually like you can group with people, and you can do other things.

I think this is the ideal scenario for people to play the Hardcore Mode. You can try it out without having to delete your character and no limit on what you can do in the game. Don't force to group with people. I love the World of Warcraft literally for grouping with people, hanging out, and doing stuff together. You can trade and don't have to trade. Just being alive is ok, because if you die, you will be a regular character again. That's the main hardcore update, moving on to the boosting update.

The Boosting Update

It has been completely stepped on, boosting has just been bullied into non-existence. Maraudon and Stratholme both got the immunity to snares buff, and the relentless dead buff grants immunity to snare and slows. That's going to be active 30 seconds after entering combat, and it's on all undead in Stratford, so that is the end of Mage boosting in Stratholme, and it's also a similar situation for Mages and even in Zul'Farrak. It has its Zombies nerfed.

They're going to drop less lucrative treasures. Instead, their loots are going to be redistributed to other enemies in the dungeon, so it's kind of cool for those who just want to clear the dungeon and don't just farm the Zombies.

It's kind of a bonus for us who are just doing other stuff, but boosting is not spared for those of you keeping track. Blizzard also stated that if a player kill a creature in a group with one or more players who are at a much higher level than the slain creature, he would get far fewer experience, so boosting is basically shot in the arse. This is awesome.

Thank you so much, Blizzard. Because boosting is not engaging, and not fun. I expect the Season of Mastery to be a closer version of what we wanted with the original Classic WoW release. Of course, there are a lot of other awesome changes. Alts will level up as intended doing dungeons and quests and interacting with other players. It is exciting because of the XP and bonus.

Raiding Adjustments

The last big update relates to raiding adjustments. There will be "significant adjustments" to almost every encounter in Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair, restoring mechanics to raid bosses for Season of Mastery. All creatures have their health increased.

Blizzard doesn’t intend these or any future changes for Season of Mastery raid encounters to increase the difficulty of the content to a point where experienced, prepared raid groups will have to wipe for days or weeks to progress on it. Don’t change the fights so much that they become completely unrecognizable or fundamentally different from their Classic versions. Blizzard’s intent is to provide something subtle and fresh to go along with the Season of Mastery that feels very much in keeping with the spirit of the original encounters.

Thank you, Toyhouze, for the amazing video.
