PCOS or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is a hormonal disorder that affects 10% of women and 5% of those within the childbearing age.
It is a condition that comes along with a long chain of symptoms some of which are irregular menstruation, absence of ovulation, acne, skin tag, dandruff, excessive weight gain/obesity, excessive body hair growth, thinning hair, sleep apnea, infertility and so on.

The cause of the syndrome is not known but some factors like Insulin Resistance, Genetic/Environmental factors and Polycystic Ovaries have been linked to it.
