In keeping with current happenings in Nigeria, I shall keep this post short as to allow anyone who is participating in the fuel subsidy removal reversal strike enough time to finish reading and to have a nap as the possible end of this strike has not been announced. Firstly, I shall want to say I have not been posting due to migrations which are ongoing at the blog and websites of the Assembly of Yahweh Natzraya, in Nigeria. …Continue

Hey! Hey! Hey! Aren’t dreams so much fun? Just ask yourself what it would be like if mankind never had dreams. At times when a person desires something or desires an accomplishment, dreaming serves to bring such desires to fruition such that people usually want to know what kind of dream a person has for the future. So – and if I may ask – what is your dream?
Certainly not all dreams are made of substance or stuff (if you prefer). Some dreams are so much chaff – not…Continue

Esaw (Esau) is a lesson in carelessness. More importantly how many of us as individuals exhibit the kind of attitude Esaw had in whatever endeavour we find ourselves in? Esaw was older than Yaaqob (both were twins) and in a time of hunger gave over the rights of the first born to Yaaqob (Jacob). To Esaw it was just an insignificant position till when the blessing of Yitsḥaq (Isaac) was given over to his younger – now older – brother.
Gen 25:29-34 And Yaaqoḇ cooked a stew,…Continue

This week, on Sunday – the first day of the week – I listened to a drama aired by the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN). Pleasantly, it was about a lady desirous of getting married but faced with a daunting task of choosing whom amongst two differing suitors she would give her hand to. It made for entertaining listening as I had just looked up the Scripture portion for the week and – you guessed - it too was speaking about a marriage although not one as perplexing or tinged with…Continue

At times we may wonder what connection the New Testament has to the Old Testament and why both (if one thinks of them in terms of two) are relevant to believers. The answer to this question is not far-fetched when it is realized both eras complement each other. While what is commonly referred to as the Old Testament (and not an accurate translation of its meaning) is the foundation and super structure, the New Testament is the finishing of the building – in a manner of speaking. Since I am…Continue

Ibrim (Hebrews) 11:1-40
And belief is the substance of what is expected, the proof of what is not seen. For by this the elders obtained witness.
By belief, we understand that the ages were prepared by the word of Elohim (the Mighty One), so that what is seen was not made of what is visible.
By belief, Heḇel (Abel) offered to Elohim a greater slaughter offering than Qayin (Cain), through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, Elohim witnessing of…Continue

Sometimes when I reflect on all the beer I drink, I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn’t drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. I think, "It is better to drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."-- Babe Ruth
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.-- Paul…Continue

Good morning all. I read a comment from a Mr. Nicholas left for a certain Amine Murphy and after confirming his distress by looking up her/his (?) profile I see it fit to sound a warning to other members of this community about activities of 419 which is still very much within the Nigerian society.
Before I post clips of the exact words of these faceless persons (they usually employ photos of other persons which you can easily get from magazines or by running a Google/Bing…Continue
The marriage of Ribkah to Yitshaq (Bereshith/Genesis 24) as read from this week’s Torah portion reveals nuggets of truth for the People of Yahweh concerning the hope of Yisrael. As may be read, Abraham conscripts his trusted servant Eliezar into taking a wife from Abraham’s people for Yitshaq/Isaac. The reason for this mission is because the Canaanites…Continue
