Voters' registration begins Oct 24

Nigeria to end fuel subsidies by end of 2011, says Aganga

Nigeria’s government is aiming to remove subsidies on domestic fuel prices by the end of next year at the latest, after investing in a mass transit system to ease the impact on the poor, Finance Minister Olusegun Aganga said. “It is going to be sooner rather than later,” Aganga said in an interview in London today. UNICEF, WHO collaborate with Nigeria on outbreak of cholera

To further strengthen Nigeria’s effort towards tackling the outbreak of cholera in the country, United Nation Education Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) and other partners are supporting the Nigerian government as it strives to contain the epidemic in 12 states.
