Igbos are moneymongers to a fault. What fuel these kidnappings are 3 factors: GREED, GREED & GREED. Everyone wants to own jeep, but no one really want to work hard for it. Igbos do not count on norm or respect people based on their academical achivements & their personalities any longer. Igbos worship only money. Even Igbo parents snob & compare their wards to others who have made it, thereby encouraging them to indulge in so many vices.
These also contribute to the fact that about 95% of the Nigerians, who peddle drugs in diaspora are Igbos due to the pressures from home. I call them FOOLS!
To think about it, which people are known of importing and selling of fake medications? Are they not mostly Igbos? That is even worse than kidnapping.
Its time we stop pointing accusing fingers at anybody who speak against the Igbos & face our problems squarely. For example, there are over 20 Million people in Lagos state, but to be compared to the high rates of Kidnapping cases in South/East, Lagos is a safe haven. Why is that?
Each time I visit Nigeria, I feel more free in any other state than the in South/East, where I sneak in for a day or 2 & sneak out again like a thief, although its my fathers land. What a shame! ANYA UKWU NA OKE ICHICHO GA EGBU NDI IGBO! NDI ARA!

It is not Ibos that first started kidnapping in Nigeria. The stinking thieves of Nigerian resources are not Ibos. It is other people that are stealing the money of this country who have been ruining this country saying that they are ruling or leading it. As far as I am concerned, there is no different between a kidnapper, a militant, a governor, a senator, a member of any of the houses of assembly, a president, a minister, pickpockets at former oshodi market in lagos, the armed robber, a pen robber. Whatever you call all these people, they are common thieves. And they are found in every community in Nigeria PERIOD

@S S Onoh, Are you a kidnapper? If you are feels free and say it out, nobody is going to arrest you but you needed only deliverance. Firstly, why must you attack everybody, why can’t you be honest for yourself for once in your life? Am deeply sorry for yourself for such an uncivilized attitude you have, I cannot hide to say any atrocity going on South/East because why must our tribe continue kidnapping our tribe, if you don’t mind am from Ibo tribe maybe you thought am from North or West but even if I must say the truth. I can understand truth is biting you up now, try and achieve one thing in your life, truth is better than any other thing. The question here is why it is too much in South/East. @S S Onoh, you completely lack focus and ideas, you called yourself an Igbo man and now showing happiness of what was going on South/East. If you cannot feel for people at home thinking that you will live and die in western world I think you are a big fool, people like you think every land are the same, an educationist or a lawyer as you claim who could not be useful to his Country and decided to be an agent of criminal to his tribe.

You certainly fall into this category of outlaws, who are tarnishing our image on daily basis. If not, may be u can explain to us the nature of ur business in holland. As a Nigeria-image-tarnishing-felon, u dont even have the right to be in this forum discussing the national affairs. @s s onoh! I don't mean to insult u in any kind. It not my business what anyone does for a living. It only p***** me off when people see the truth, and try to covert it. We have a impending danger in Igboland. If nothing is done, it will come to a stage where nobody can walk the street unharmed.
Attacking anyone who speak against the alarming kidnapping cases among the Igbos based on the fact at hand does not help the matters. Take my advice, flow with the discussion, and if u have to oppose a notion, you can do so & voice ur opinion based on facts, without personally attacking anyone. Personal attack up here is absolute uncalled for, immature & childish.
We are all Nigerians & we are not oblivious of what's going on in one area of that country and another. So no one can fool no one. That's my advice.

ABA ALANGWA stated clearly that it was not the Igbos who started kidnappings in Nigeria, and that is very true. In the distant past, they were popular in Yoruba land and called 'gbómó gbómó' (whatever their motives), then in the Edo region for juju and so on, then to the Niger-delta for 'cry for justice' and now to the South East for 'economic balancing' or 'resource redistribution' lol!
This forum is for discussions and not everyone is obliged to agree with you. Please keep it clean. State your point, and do not be insulting. We are all grown ups, and are not the ones stealing the money or kidnapping people in Nigeria - so why throw insults and abuses at one another? The kidnapping is everywhere, and for different reasons. In the North, they kidnap you for being a southerner, and most likely kill you for being in Jos! In the East, they kidnap you for money or business deal gone bad, and may even kill you too. In the Delta, they kidnap you for their oil money (they say), and you may even be killed by the JTF trying to rescue you!
This is an avenue to release your tension, and not where to create more! Don't we have enough problems already? See Nigeria!

@Uyi Azodeh, nobody is trying to insult any tribe here as you may call it but if you look at the whole basic areas in Igbo land like Abia State, Anambra State, Enugu State and Imo State, why must it be more serious there, we all knew where it was started as you said, but the entire Igbo’s are living in fear right now. I didn’t bring up this topic to insult any tribe but I brought it for a discussion of solution because everybody has to care for his or her own families. I think nobody should be happy when his or her house is on fire, I cannot and will not insult an Igbo Men or Women but it was too painful to me for such an atrocities still going on.
