Thatcher's Exit: The Different Versions Of Tributes By World Leaders Past And Present

Tony Blair:  Very few leaders get to change not only the political landscape of their country, but of the world. Margret was such a leader. Her global impact was vast. And some of the changes she made in Great Britain were in certain respects at least, retained by the 1997 Labor Government, and came to be implemented by governments around the world. Former U.S Secretary of State Henry Kissinger: She was a tremendous prime minister. She was a great leader, she has very strong opinions. And to those of us who knew her over the decades she was a very warm person , which  is not the public image that is given. President Goodluck Jonathan: Nigerians join the Thatcher family, citizens of Great Britain, members of the commonwealth and all those in far-flung corners of the world whose lives were positively touched by her dynamic and forward -looking policies ,in mourning the passage of the celebrated first female British prime minister. Baroness Thatcher will be eternally honoured for serving her country with immense passion and strong-willed determination as well as the great transformation witnessed in Great Britain under the Conservative Government that she led. British Prime Minister David Cameron: Today is a truly sad day for our country. We have lost a great leader, a great prime minister and a great Briton. Cameron said in a statement shortly after a spokesman for the Thatcher family said the former prime minister had died peacefully following a stroke.

John Major: Her reforms of the economy, trades union law and her recovery of the Falkland Islands elevated her above normal politics, and may not have been achieved under any other leader. Her outstanding characteristics will be remembered by those who worked closely with her courage and determination and politics and humanity and generosity of spirit in private. Mikhail Gorbachev of former Soviet Union (USSR): “A great politician and an exceptional person” who helped end the Cold War. Thatcher was a politician whose word carried great weight. Our first meeting in 1984 marked the beginning of a relationship that was at times difficult not always smooth, but treated seriously and responsibly by both sides. She was a great politician and an exceptional person. She will remain in our memories and in history.

Former U.S president George W. Bush and his wife Laura: They were grieved by the loss of a great woman and friend in Thatcher. She was an inspirational leader who stood on principle and guided her nation with confidence and clarity, he said. “Prime Minister Thatcher is a great example of strength and character, and a great ally who strengthened the special relationship between the United Kingdom and the United states. Ex PM Gordon Brown of Britain:  She will be remembered not only for being Britain’s first female prime minister and holding the office for 11 years, but also for the determination and resistance with which she carried out all her duties through out her pubic life. Northern Island politician and SinFein president Gerry Adams:Lady Thatcher did “great hurt” to the Irish and British people during her time as prime minister. “Working class communities were devastated in Britain because of her policies, he said, he said. Her role in international affairs was equally belligerent whether in support of the Chilean dictator Pinochet, her opposition to sanctions against apartheid South Africa and her support for the Khmer Rouge”
