There are two many registered political parties in Nigeria and many of them are docile.  I am of the opinion that the number should be reduced to not more than four.  This I believe will bring a lot of sanity in our polity.

the number is not the problem.there are nearly 20 political parties here in the UK.3 are the most popular=Conservative,Labor,Libdems.every party has to work hard and get their candidates elected.dont forget,we vote people not parties.if a well known good person is up for election, people will vote for him no matter what his party is called.
The no of party is not the problem afterall we have independent candidates in some countries, the problem is the credibility of the party. Most of this party which i call sitting room parties are founded on ripping from the funding govt. give for the running the parties. The are not after winning election but as bussiness men they want to enrich their pockets. I see most of them folding up going by the new electoral act where funding is based on the number of elected members.
THE NUMER OF POLITICAL PARTIES  IS TOO MUCH , SUCH THAT THE WHOLE THING HAS BECOME A CARRICATURE.

wen u hv more than 60 political parties in a country like ours wit no sign of their existence it becomes  worrying. but they keep on pocketing d allocation given to them apparently being shared by few individuals, it should be reviewed periodically to knw how dey are spending d tax payer's money.

Mr.Charles thanks for the idea being brought out.Nigerians today had no idea of some things that have been hindering

the growth of our govt.more especially the multi party system adopted in nigeria, for example if we should emulate the

USA,i don't think we should have any problem in the Govt.

we should not bother ourselves with the number of political parties we have here rather we should set corrective measures on how to overpower all those hudlums who parade themselves as leaders which we all know are not.

Hello Peeps,

I subscribe to your idea Mr Charles, The issue is Nigerians are not sincere to themselves. We need a two party system that will bring about peace and stability in the polity of a nation. Since the military interregnum, Nigerian leaders was unable to grapple the right and liberty of  democracy provided for the citizenry. It has been a self rule, reckless and mismanagement of natural and human resources in a great nation of ours called Nigeria. The best idea now is to vote PDP out in the system and get all the processes of maintaining a true governance in fresh party. Preferably, ACN or CPC. PDP had failed this nation so long now and definitely deserves to be annulled and probed for their charade.

My amiable people of Nigeria, get registered and vote wisely.

Remember: No room for PDP(Poverty Development Party). They are all trash!

Thanks.

Humbly,

Realist Bolaji.

Your point is valid but I still believe the number is surplus to requirement.
