Appointing Prof Wole Soyinka as the next INEC Chairman would be a pointer to the fact that Nigeria's Ag. President is serious about his promise to have a credible Nigerian election in 2010. It would be applauded by the entire world.

But why is everybody having negative mind about this nation. we need to start reformation from somewhere. we cant ask God to come down and help us. He will definitly send a saviour one day to help us out. But who knows who the man or woman will be or look like. Let us have faith in this nation. l believe is going to be fine very soon. watch out.
I thought the INEC was an independent body not drenched in the quaymire of Nigerian politics, the president could simply place his stooge and secure his office in next elections. Iwu is not the root cause of electoral malpractice in Nigeria, he is not responsible for the security in elections, he does not place all the votes. NO. Nigerians are the problem. Illiteracy, poverty and ethnicity. An average Nigerian is more concerned about his tribesman being in power. The frustration form poverty is what drives people to sell their votes and even their lives. "If a Southerner is not there, then nobody". Bloodshed results. Most Nigerians do not understand the value of their votes and their collective role as a check to the government.

In my opinion, I do not think Wole Soyinka would change anything if appointed, the problem is beyond him and too deeply rooted.

Well.... You have a good idea but, don't think it is too late to talk about such issue? Why because the matter has been overtaken by the appointment of the present INEC chairman. What are you insinuating? Are you saying the present Chairman can not deliver therefore he should be drop?
