Quilox nightclub owned by Shina Peller, a member of Lagos State government House of Representatives, has been sealed off by the Lagos State government.
This was disclosed in a post on Twitter by Jubril Gawat, the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media on Monday.
“The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (@LasepaInfo) has sealed popular Club Quilox, Victoria Island over Noise Pollution and Traffic Congestion,” the tweet read.
The club’s shut down comes just as the Lagos State Police Command has disclosed the reason for the arrest of the lawmaker.
Peller was arrested by police operatives on Monday at the Maroko Police Station.
According to Bala Elkana, the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, Peller had mobilised thugs who invaded the police station and forcefully removed three vehicles that were towed away by law enforcement agents.
The statement noted that the federal lawmaker had been warned several times about the traffic congestion that occurs as a result of activities at the club, but failed to take any measures to mitigate against its reoccurrence.
