Borno state Governor Babagana Zulum, has made a clarion call to the Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari requesting that the “dissolved” personnel from the Special Anti Robbery Squard (SARS) be sent to Borno following the state’s inability to stop the activities of Boko Haram for years.
He also revealed they would be of great help to the military already stationed in the terror-ridden state.
Zulum made this statement in Maiduguri while receiving the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregebesola, who led a delegation to the state.
Some youths in the state actually protested on Wednesday, 14th October calling for the reform and not banishment of SARS even as they stood in solidarity with SARS. Aregbesola, the interior minister said they were in the state to get first-hand information on security challenges plaguing Borno and other parts of the North East.
