It is nothing short of that.

Christians are not cowards but they our faith is against shading of blood.  But it seems our Muslim brothers are using this perceived weakness against us.

Muslims are peace loving people, therefore, political Muslims should be separated from spiritual, devote Muslim. The sins of Boko Haram should not be extended to innocent Muslims in Nigeria.

Boko Haram should be thoroughly investigated before passing blame on Nigeria Muslims. No sane Muslim will unleash terror on fellow man just because someone averse or do not practice his faith. No versed Muslims will bomb house of worship in the name of Jihad or whatsoever. The so called Boko Haram is not Islam but group of people that allowed their personal sentiment to overshadow the teaching of Islam. Jihad is not about killing but strive to attain spirituality (piety) which is the most important and most honoured by Allah (God). The other aspect of Jihad has to do with strive to attain justice and equity. The third defined posture of Jihad is to attained human development in relation to God. The least of all the jihad is the holy war that has to do with defensive not offensive war. Jihad as relating to military or physical confrontation has to do with defending faithfuls, community, race, ethnic or good ideology from being exterminated.

The spokesperson of the Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati Wal' Jihad, which I translate to be the Congregation or Community of Muslims that follow the Sunnah of the Prophet said that, the series of bombing especially those targeted at Churches are not carried out by their faithfuls. The so call Boko Haram are divided so we cannot really say who they are. Anybody or group can just claim to be Boko Haram, therefore, Islam should be separated from Boko Haram. Mind you, we have been hearing conflicting stories about those that were arrested attempting to bomb churches. Some of them were later discovered to be Ibo extracts.

Islam does not condone any act of violence against Non-Muslim because it says that he who kill innocent person is like killing a whole human race. The same religion says there is no compulsion in religion.

Muslims are good people.

Lateef, I agree with you but my worry is that Islam is a religion with a history of wars and hostilities.  Based on this, one is quick to conclude that what Boko Haram is doing is implementing one of the tenets of the Islamic faith.

Salami, reconcile Boko Haram with Maitasine, Saria crisis and many other religious crisis in the Country.  Then ask yourself:  Why must it Muslims all the time in a country where other religions abound?  Would it be wrong therefore to conclude that Islam is not a religion of peace?

Mr. Charles Okere, Islam is not synonymous to violence or war. Before Islam, Christianity was about war, crusade to eliminate the Barbarians, Goth etc that averse to it teaching. In fact, Christianity did a lot of devastating extermination to the Aztec and Amazon tribes of South America before the rest were subdued. The atrocities Christian crusaders committed was far ahead compared to other religion. This is not to say that Christianity encourage killing by senselessness or hatred. However, there are many areas in the Bible (mostly Old Testament) were killing, pillaging, raping, destroying and capturing was emphasized. You cannot say that because some Christians are killing then Christianity is all about killing so same goes to Islam.
