''Be Prepared For Service And Live Up To The Scout Motto'' - Hon. Justice E. A. Edigin

The Edo State Scout Council of The Scout Association of Nigeria on the 9th of April, 2021 at the Oba Akenzua (ii) International Scout Training Camp, Ogba, Benin City held an Extra-Ordinary General meeting EOGM to elect new leadership to pilot the affairs of the State Council for the next three years.

According to a Statement jointly released by Mr. J. H. I. Osifo and Comrade Omontese Iyoha Chairman and Secretary of the EOGM Planning Committee, the Edo State Chief Judge and President, Edo State Scout Council, Honorable Justice E. A. Edigin presided over the Extra-Ordinary General Meeting.

The EOGM was well attended by His Excellency, The Executive Governor of Edo State Mr. Godwin Obaseki and the Chief Commissioner of Nigeria Scouts (CC) Hon. Chief Dave Awunah who were ably represented by the Permanent Secretary, Edo State Ministry of Youths and Special Duties and The Assistant Chief Commissioner, South-South Chief Stephen Etanoma JP respectively including the Honorary National Treasurer of The Scout Association of Nigeria, Dr. Scot Aigbovia.

The Edo State Scout President, Honorable Justice E. A. Edigin in her welcome address thanked His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Edo State who with less than three days notice graciously honored the invitation. The President further enjoined all to look well and elect credible leaders that have selfless and volunteering zeal to pilot the affairs of the scout movement in Edo State and equally informed His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Edo State of the Council's request to officially invest Him as the State Scout Patron.

The highlight of the ceremony was the election of the following Scouters and the adminitration of Oath of Office by the State Scout President, Hon. Justice E. A. Edigin; (1) Sir. Okhuegbe Fidelis - State Scout Commissioner (2) Mr. James Omoarebum - Secretary (3) Uda Solomon as Treasurer and Mr. Cejero Ojo as Air Scout to inaugurate an outfit of Air Scout section for the State Scout Council.

In his acceptance speech, the new state scout commissioner, Sir. Fidelis Okhuegbe promised to improve on the achievements of previous administrations and to work along with the State Scout President in order to move the State Council forward in line with global standards of quality scouting
