...Says erosion may soon overwhelmed Anyigba, other parts of Kogi East
Kogi-born activist and political commentator, Usman Austin Okai, has raised alarm over popular Anyigba town which he claimed might soon be overpowered by the erosion that cut across Ogane Ajih, Iyale Road and Dekina town in Dekina LGA with Ankpa and Ugwolawo not exempted.
Okai while addressing newsmen on Friday, appealed to the lawmakers at the National level as well as House Assembly members representing those areas to make case for the Igala Kingdom.
According to him, "Making case should go beyond raising of hands for mere ceremonial purpose rather, necessary lobbying and appealing mechanisms should be activated to press home necessary points that will move the Federal and state government to action."
The activist wonder why the town that occupy historical position of Igala in the anal of history is now a shadow of itself.
He challenged the lawmakers to go beyond distribution of cup of rice during election to real representation and good governance.
Challenging those in authority to prioritize public interest, Mr Okai wonder why the ecological fund is not being adequately used.
"Requests should be made to Exological Fund Office ( EFO) for intervention from communities, government, agencies at Local, State and Federal Government Levels, and this can be championed by our representatives at various level," he said.
“It’s high time our representatives from kogi east both at the state and National Assembly hold a joint meeting of taken up serious business of representative governance," he concluded.
