Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi State, has issued a grave warning to any bandits who may be planning to cause mayhem in the state.
While inspecting a project last week in the state's Okehi local government, Governor Bello, who is known for having zero tolerance for insecurity and is one of the top governors in the fight against terrorism, issued the strong warning to intended criminals.
Bello, who addressed the crowd in his own tongue, stressed that his administration will not tolerate misconduct or criminal activity going forward and that any effort to undermine the state's current state of peace would be met with resistance.
Mischievous media outlets and tweeps have mostly misinterpreted and mocked the governor's statement.
Since the state's founding more than three decades ago, Bello's administration is credited as being the best. The new direction government has received praise for its efforts to address insecurity, build a sizable infrastructure, inclusion of women and young people in governance, and improve education system in the state.
