Is it not a shame that barely a few months after many innocent souls were lost, another crisis erupted in Jos?. Is Jos cursed?. Even if there had been deliberate negativepolitical claculation to permanently cause trouble in Jos that is endowed with beautiful landscape that makes it a haven for people to live, why can't people think and behave like normal human beings in this twentyfirst century? Shouldn't we think of looking for extraordinary solutions to the perennial crisis in Jos?
The federal government of Nigeria has undertaken several covert population control measures which go unappreciated by all but the most discerning minds in the polity. The most recent effort in Jos which took out another five hundred people brings the total to about 5,000 since 2001 in Jos alone.
This number far out weighs the efforts of the combined forces of nature else where in the world; the incessant earthquakes in Haiti, Chile and Turkey, the tornadoes and floods, etc across the world.
An close look at other such efforts across the northern parts of the country in Bauchi, Kano etc, will give one an idea of how our government has been immensely tasked by the need to keep our population under control.
Just three weeks ago, about 86 people were taken out by PHCN high tension cables in port harcourt, this is not to undermine the action of robberies, accidental discharges, assassinations and kidnappings gone wrong.
Do not let the governments' modesty with figures(numbers) fool you, if you have been keeping count, you will better appreciate the effort that goes into killing the enormous number of unwanted citizens by the Nigerian government.
