Delta youth leader Comrade Okorie to convoke a crucial stakeholders meeting on Senator Okowa's re-election.
The Delta State Chairman, National Youth Council Of Nigeria NYCN Comrade Kenneth Okorie is to hold a crucial meeting with youth leaders and stakeholders on how to re-elect Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and other candidates of the PDP in the forthcoming governorship and State Assembly elections on the 9th of March.
Comrade Okorie who disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Asaba said Delta youths will offer one hundred percent votes to Senator Okowa and other candidates of the PDP in appreciation for the dividends of democracy so far enjoyed.
He equally congratulated all National Assembly members elect from Delta under the PDP on their victory at the polls and thanked Deltans for believing in the party's manifestos.
Comrade Okorie said the landslide victory at the election was a clear indication that Delta was a stronghold of the PDP.
The youth leader said the SMART agenda has affected all sectors of the state including roads,infrastructure, upgrade of schools,hospitals, as well as empowerment and appointment of youths into key positions.
He reminded the Governor of the need to consider the appointment of a youth into the state executive council in his second tenure.
Comrade Okorie appealed to youths not to allow anybody buy their votes with money or use them to foment trouble during the election.
According to him, the meeting will be used to highlight the achievements of Senator Okowa and ways to canvass for votes before the elections.
He also urged INEC to upgrade its card reader machines to avoid disenfranchising eligible voters as the experience of Nigerians in the presidential and national Assembly elections was not palatable.
To the security agencies,Comrade Okorie reminded them of the need to be neutral and professional in their actions during the elections pointing out that a situation where some are used to aid and abet electoral fraud was unacceptable.
