Anxiety is a normal emotional reaction to stress, which is a biological response to a threat. GAD is characterized by excessive worry and symptoms of physiological arousal such as restlessness, insomnia, and muscle tension. ANXIETY

Worry often interferes with daily functioning, and sufferers are overly concerned about everyday matters such as health, finances, death, family, relationship concerns, or work difficulties. Symptoms may include excessive worry, restlessness, trouble sleeping, exhaustion, irritability, sweating, and trembling.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is characterized by persistent and excessive worry about a number of different things. People with GAD may anticipate disaster and may be overly concerned about money, health, family, work, or other issues. Individuals with GAD find it difficult to control their worry. They may worry more than seems warranted about actual events or may expect the worst even when there is no apparent reason for concern.

Generalized anxiety disorder can occur at any age. The condition has symptoms similar to panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and other types of anxiety. BETWEEN ANXIETY AND GAD WHICH AFFECT STUDENTS THE MOST

Undergraduate studies are a challenging time for students to adapt to the multi-functional roles and responsibilities of a university life. Studying as an undergraduate in a university requires a strong commitment and dedication from a student. It comes at a cost of living away from the comfort of home and family and taking responsibilities of an adult. High level of anxiety threatens individuals' mental and physical health and has a negative effect on their personal, social, familial, occupational, and educational performance. One of the broadest research areas in recent years has been test anxiety and its dimensions.

CONCLUSION

It can be concluded that anxiety is manifest by disturbances of mood, thinking, behavior, and physiological activity and accompanying disturbances of sleep, concentration, social and/or occupational functioning. Also, it is associated with restlessness, feeling keyed up or on edge, being easily fatigued, difficulty in concentrating or mind going blank, irritability, muscle tension, and irritability. And all of these can make one lose his/her self confidence in anything which may or may not turn out excellently well.
