When a Nigerian Musician Launches a Technology Blog For 18-34 Year Olds.

HAUSA NG - Rock act turned Afropop artiste, Richard Juwah, A.K.A Richee Rawk took a break from the music industry in 2016 to focus on business. The result was a tech blog, Richeetech which he launched last month.

The website leverages on data-driven metrics based on how many times a content is viewed, shared or searched, to create the most compelling serious and fun content that strike a balance between the SEO optimized and the immensely sharable.

Targeted at the 40 million plus, internet using, Nigerian millennial demographic (18-34 years), richeetech.com.ng is on track to become the BuzzFeed of Nigerian technology news.

Speaking on how much the business may have influenced his music career, Richee Rawk had this to say:

"Running a business, especially a startup is a time consuming activity, not to mention being a musician on the other hand.

Since I started the tech media upstart, I admit that a lot of my time which would have gone for music related activities, have gone into building the company.

A nod to this fact shows in the way of no new material being released since 2015 besides collaborations.

Speaking of fans, the now "newly converted" Nigerian artiste who took up Afropop as his major genre in place of Rock music might have a challenging road ahead.

The task of recapturing the hearts of old fans who knew and loved him as a Rock musician, and amassing new followers of his new music style, will be lurking in the future for the Delta-born artiste.

Nonetheless, we say congratulations to Richee Rawk on his new business venture.
