If you think to delete yourself from the internet sounds like a ridiculous idea, think again.
I know the internet pretty much made some people into what they are today and is powering millions of Businesses around the world but the internet is not all that good. Spammers, hackers and viruses abound.
One good thing about this idea is that you don't have to utterly delete yourself from the internet completely (wiping out your Facebook account and all the horrors of stuff like that). You get to choose what and where to delete yourself from.
For example, if you browse through my yahoo mail app, you'd notice a bunch (a very large bunch) of websites I'm signed up to that send me this and that daily. It's annoying and I hardly read them.
Do I go about deleting each irrelevant message one after the other? No. They run into thousands! Not when Deseat Me the website that lets you delete yourself from the internet, exists.
How does Deseat.me work?
Built by Swedish developers Dahlbo and Linus Unnebäck, Deseat.me will have you create an account using your Google credentials (for some reason I don't know why it's specifically google).
After this, the website scans the entire web universe for places you've been signed up to and pulls out a list.
Beside each app or website on the list, you'll see a delete link that's connected to the "Unsubscribe Me" page of each of them. You click the ones you are no longer interested in and congrats, you now have a clean slate!
I don't know about you, but I'm definitely going to try it out.
So if paraventure, you're a criminal maybe looking to wipe your existence from the cyber world, you can just hit the delete button on every single app and website your name shows up in and hope nobody can track you anymore.
