Academic, non academic, commercial, likewise vehicular activities were paralysed as students of University of Ibadan, protests over power and inadequate water supply in their hostel.
The protest was led by the new Students’ Union Executives when they marched of the campus in crowd to the major roads in the city displaying placards after they have barricaded key routes on campus as they compel car owner to park in available spaces while they trek to their respective destination.

“We are tired of darkness, where is our right? University of Ibadan is the first but the worst and drought, no light, no water, no life, we are fed up” these were some of the writings on some placards.

Ekhafor Raymond Edosa, the Students Union President, said that they will not be off the roads until the Federal Government intervenes and solve the electricity problem on campus. “UI has tried all it can but we need the assistance of government. They need to build transmission station in UI”
