The Anambra State All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has concluded its primaries for the State and federal legislative slots with the former Information Minister, Professor Dora Akunyili winning in Anambra Central Senatorial district, 1,547 votes to emerge winner after defeating Professor Peter Nwangwu, Hon. George Ozodinobi and Chief Emma Nweke who scored 102, 97 and 12 votes respectively.
Declaring Professor Akunyili as the winner, the Returning Officer, Professor Chinyere Okunna, who is also the Commissioner for Budget and Planning said the exercise was peaceful and orderly.
Senator Joy Emordi won in Anambra North contest, while controversy still trails the emergence of the former Special Adviser to Governor Chinwoke Mbadinujuon security matters, Hon. Chuma Nzeribe as the winner in Anambra South Senatorial district.
The incumbent member representing Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia federal constituency, Hon. Uche Ekwunife won in her constituency with 659 votes ahead of Uzochukwu Okafor and Cosmas Emenike Ndulue who polled 226 and 122 votes respectively.
