There was a time in the recent past when many analysts were writing the obituary of his political life.
In 2005 he was embroiled in an alleged-rape case controversy. Mr. Zuma not only survived the rape case but came out stronger after he was acquitted by the judiciary.
There were legal cases against him for racketeering and corruption but in April 2009 all these cases were dropped against him. He political fortune has been on the UP since then. He won the Presidential elections in May 2009.
He remains popular with most segments of population and has largely followed the policy of inclusiveness.
He recently married a fifth time and has no qualms about it. He attributes it to his culture which allows keeping many wives.
And his wives and ex-wives have not been complaining. In fact his ex-wife, Nkosazana Clarice Dlamini-Zuma, is his cabinet colleague as the Minister of Home Affairs.
Failing to be remain an integral part of Zuma's household doesn't mean that Ms. Nkosazana Clarice would fail as the country's Home Minister! So much unbiasedness is rare to find in male mind set.
Lets give credit to Zuma, the man! He is free from rancour and revengefulness, to say the least.
Last week he also admitted to have fathered a twentieth child. That too out of the wedlock. Mr. President has no problems with this one again.
The Republic of South Africa, to most non- Africans, is associated with being the biggest economy in Africa. It is a mature democracy and is known for its growing industrial output, the rich panorama of national parks and the great wild life that occupies these vast parks. It has magnificent mountains and captivating sea beeches and amazing museums and some marvelous monuments.
However of late the brand South Africa has become associated with its hilarious President, Mr. Zuma.
I don't know whether to applaud President Zuma's sincerity for having fathered his 20th child or to lambast him for his promiscuity.
I think that I will go with the former.
