*As PDP loses 2 senatorial seats to CPC

KATSINA -THE daughter of Late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, Maryam Umaru Yar’Adua of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP lost to Mohammed Tukur of the Congress for Progressive, CPC, at last Saturday Katsins Federal Constituency.
Tukur of CPC polled 45,572 while Yar’Aadua recorded 26,674.
Other results announced, Sunday night, includes Katsina senatorial zone where Ibrahim Ida of PDP polled 188,205 votes while the CPC candidate Ahmed Sani Store scored 267,154 to win the senatorial seat.
Funtua senatorial zone Sen Abu Ibrahim of CPC polled 324,652, Tukur Ahmed of PDP polled 198,927 votes as the CPC candidate won.
The PDP so far had lost two of the three Senatorial seats results declared in Katsina state while only two federal constituencies out of 14 that were contested were won by the ruling party, the .
CPC clinched the remaining 12 federal seats.
There were actually 15 federal seats but one of the contestants had died a day before the botched April 2 elections, this reduced the number of the candidates to 14.
Other results from Daura were being expected as at the time of this report.
