Muslims organise special prayers for Gbajabiamila, others

The Muslim faithfuls on Sunday, held a special prayer session for the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila among other members of the Green Chamber.
 
According to reports, the worshipers converged at exactly 9:15am at Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria, Lagos Branch Central Mosque, Surulere.
 
The Lagos State missionary, Sheikh Zakariya Muhammadu briefed newsmen on the reason for the occasion.
 
"The essence of this convergence is to pray for our leaders because, the tasks at their hearts are enormous and it is only with the help of Allah (SWT) that they discharge these duties efficiently.
 
"That was why we organise the prayer for them particularly Hon Femi Gbajabiamila among others representing Nigerian citizens in the Green Chamber. May Almighty Allah (SWT) guide them in all they do. Amin."
 
In his message to Nigerian leaders, Muhammadu called for accountability and honesty in the quest for a purposive leadership in Nigeria.
 
"There are core values that are required of any leader, and that is trust in everything they do.
 
"They (leaders) should mark their words with actions, and they should be truthful in whatever they are saying because they are going to be accountable to Allah (SWT) on the day of reckoning," he said.
 
The honourable speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila represented by Hon Lookman Agboola Dabiri assured Nigerians of fair treatment and good governance.
 
"We want to thank Nigerians for their endless support and goodwill in the just concluded NASS elections.
 
"We also beckon on our people both home and abroad to keep giving us their supports as this would help us to fulfill our campaign promises to them.
 
"We equally commit ourselves to always observe the tenets of justice, equity and fairness in my dealings, and to apply the ideals of transparency, probity and accountability in discharging our duties"
 
Among the dignitaries at the occasion are the mother of Speaker Gbajabiamila, Alhaja Lateefat Gbajabiamila, Hon Lookman Agboola Dagari, Hon S. Ajao, Mr. Ibrahim Alli-Balogun, Hon Ganiyu Johnson, Hon Bolaji Ayinla Yussuf, Hon Musftau Egberonge and Hon Kayode Akiolu etc.
