Instructions to Set up a Orbi Router and Satellite

Netgear Orbi is the best WiFi router in today’s world of modern technology. It is a new spin to the regular WiFi router specially designed to stretch the internet range all over the house as compared to any normal brand routers. Do you know why it achieves this? It is essentially two routers in one. The second unit of a Netgear Orbi acts perfectly like a glorified WiFi range extender. Setup your Orbi with us by following trouble-free rose-petal tips given below.

Essential Orbi Setup Instructions

An Orbi networking system provides only a single WiFi network for your entire home and covers all the dead zones and poor connectivity areas. A WiFi is very known to connect your smart devices to a network, especially with the Orbi router system.

  1. Unplug the existing modem. Before plugging it back, make sure that it is updated by the latest firmware. Also, replace or remove the backup battery (only if it uses one).
  2. Wait for two minutes plug your modem back into an electrical outlet.
  3. Now, using an Ethernet cable, connect your modem to the yellow internet port of the Orbi router. Once done, connect the Netgear Orbi to a damage and fluctuation free electrical outlet. In case you don’t see any LED light on your device, consider pushing the power (on/ off) button once.
  4. Wait for a couple of minutes and let the Orbi’s ring LED lights change its color to solid white and after that, pulse white.

  1. For best WiFi coverage, place the Orbi satellite in the middle of your house but away from door, walls, kitchen, and its appliances.
  2. Select a power socket and insert the Orbi satellite into it. Remember, electricity should be normal nor high neither low. In case the LED lights on your Orbi device doesn’t flash, then push the on/ off (power) button, unplug your device, wait for one minute and plug it back again.
  3. Now, wait for the Orbi satellite’s ring LED to solid white. Wait for few seconds and let the power lights turn to pulse white and pulse magenta.

Also, remember that Orbi satellite’s ring power LED lights will be pulse magenta for 30 seconds to one minute. If it takes more time and lot of your efforts, then do not delay in calling our tech support team.

Once the Orbi satellite’s ring LED pulses magenta, remember it lights one of the following colors for more 20 seconds and turns off automatically:

  • Solid Blue

It clearly means that the connection between Orbi Satellite and Orbi router is damn good.

  • Solid Magenta

This means that the Orbi satellite fails to connect with the Orbi router. To fix Orbi setup issues, place both the devices within the range of each other.

  • Solid Amber

This means that the connection between both the devices is quite fair. To make it more fairer, place our devices closer to each other and out of the reach of interference creating obstructions and public WiFi.

  1. Connect your mobile devices, computer or laptop to the orbi satellite or Orbi router with the help of an Ethernet cable. In order to get connected with the WiFi, find the network name and password. Ask our tech support team for the login credentials and Orbi setup help.

Fab! The optimal orbi setup process is successfully completed. Orbi router’s ring LED will turn off automatically. So, don’t get tensed here.
