AHEAD of the 2011 general election, Islamic scholars in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on Monday, kicked against nominating females as governorship aspirants in the state.

Their position was contained in a communique issued on the Shariah’s position on female leadership at the end of a meeting.

The scholars, under the aegis of the Descendants of Sheikh Alim, Sheikh Kamaldeen Al-Adabiyy and Sheikh Adam Al-llory, said “we call upon influential persons to nominate to the grand leadership of Kwara State, those who will suit this position of high expectations.”

The scholars, according to the communique, said their position was based on a rumour making the rounds that the next governor of the state might be a female.

I DO TRULY WISH THAT THIS IS THE MOST PRESSING PROBLEM WE HAVE IN THIS COUNTRY , BECAUSE THESE CLOWNS ARE SO EASY TO IGNORE!

SHARIA THIS AND THAT AND YET TURAI HELD US HOSTAGE FOR MONTHS EVEN WITH THE PRESENCE AND ABUNDANCE OF "DESCENDANTS" OF THIS AND SEVERAL OTHER SHEIKS.
