LAGOS - CHIEF Olabode George in his reaction to the poll in Lagos State, yesterday, expressed shock, saying his party was rigged out.
George who claimed that the party’s agents were manhandled by security operatives, apparently acting the script of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, said until he received detailed information from other parts of the South-West, he would not react to the results released yet.
The PDP chieftain who also alleged that Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, was on ground to support rigging in Alimosho.
George who said his party was coasting home to victory, especially in Alimosho constituency, until the result was manipulated at the collation centre, added: “They manipulated our votes in Lagos State, especially in Alimosho, where they threw out our party agents, arrested our House of Representatives candidate, Segun Adewale, disallowing him to monitor the process.
“It was clear we won at the polling centres, but at the collation centres things suddenly changed. They moved the collation centre from the original designated venue and moved it to a local government secretariat and our people were not aware of this.
“In Amuwo/Odofin, we won there too. As I am talking now, they cannot give a clear winner in the area. If this is how they want to run the system, I wish them good luck.
I was told that Aregbesola was on ground in Alimosho to help in the rigging. I was told by the people who saw him. Can you imagine this? As far as the results from other states are concerned, I will not react now until I get information from those states.”
