EU observer mission applauds NASS elections

ABUJA - EU Election Observation Mission, EU EOM, has described the National Assembly elections as a “positive step,” but says improvements are needed for the next elections.

Bode George accuses Aregbesola of plotting ACN rigging in Lagos

NIGERIANSin South Africa, yesterday, scored the conduct of the parliamentary elections back home high, saying early results even indicated a new path in the nation’s democracy.

Opposition parties protest in Bayelsa

INEC releases partial results in Kaduna

Kaduna - INEC, Sunday, released partial results of Saturday's National Assembly (NASS) elections for Kaduna State.



Announcing the results in Kaduna, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Alhaji Haliru Tambuwal, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that 10 out of the 11 federal constituency results were collated.

Okowa beats Nwoko for Delta North senatorial seat

FORMER Secretary to the Delta State Government, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa was declared the winner of the Senatorial election in the Delta North Senatorial District, held Saturday.

The returning officer, Prof Ebele Egwunyenga, who announced the result, Sunday at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, headquarters, Asaba,  said Dr. Okowa polled 98,140 votes to beat his main rival, Hon Ned Nwoko of the  Democratic People’s Party, DPP, who got 67,985 votes.
