RIPPLE EFFECTS – NON VIOLENCE MEANS FOR SOCIAL CHANGE

The ripple effect is a term used to describe a situation where, like the ever expanding ripples across water when an object is dropped into it, an effect from an initial state can be followed outwards incrementally. I experienced this principle in Physics in High School in early 70s and I never knew is relevant to life situation. The ripple effect is based on the understanding that we are all connected, these connection stretch like an incredibly, interwoven and…

The Hiphop Christians

Who are they? Where are they? What do they actually mean by that? What are they standing for? I just hope that this is not one of the latest and/or last signs of the end of days! We really need to be more commited with watching and praying, for the days are more dangerous than we initially thought.

Sometime last year, I went to visit a friend of mine and on reaching his house, I met two other people who came to visit him. They claimed to be 'hiphop christians'.During the course of… Continue

How to save Nigeria from Constitutional anarchy

It is no longer news that five Nigerian Governors may not have to present themselves for election come 2011. April. What is still news is the number of States that may yet be involved in this exemption. I read that INEC wants to appeal the ruling. I know that some prominent lawyers like Mr. Femi Falana were contacted to defend the interest of some of those who may be directly affected by this ruling. It is no news that the ruling Party PDP will benefit most if the ruling is allowed. The above… Continue

A Farcical And Anarchic Look At Nigerian Car Plates

Laughter, they say is the best medicine. Let’s take a comic look at our predicament in Nigeria.

A “farce” is defined as A light dramatic work in which highly improbable plot situations, exaggerated characters, and often slapstick elements are used for humorous effect”. And “The broad or spirited humor characteristic of such works”. Or “A ludicrous, empty show; a mockery: e.g.…

NIGERIA EMBASSY DO NOT DESERVE TO BE IN LIBYA

In review to the sirincing relationship amid the two nations, that lead to the nation of Libya`s withdrawer of her embassy from Nigeria,in a bilateral relationship, when the center could no longer hold, there is usually a break down in mutual agreement, however in respect to the unrest in Libya today the basic reason why the Libya govt refuses to give Nigeria govt clearance of our plain landing is very glaring, what it implies is that while Nigeria embassy is the their land. is not fully supported… Continue

Why Buhari Must Be The ACN/CPC Presidential Candidate

Nigeria faces an enduring battle for internal security and freedom. We require leadership with tenacity and experience with wisdom. Our next president must have the capacity and experience to direct the current state of affairs, manage properly, our obsolete security and education system.

The 2011 general elections must be centered on the safety of Nigerians and the prosperity…

BlackBerry Explosion in Nigeria: Time for Mobile Website is Now

It is amazing the rate at which everyone is desperate to own a BlackBerry in Nigeria. It is no news that BlackBerry is now the reigning thing in the country and if you don’t have it, then you are not just there. For many Nigerians, especially ladies, BlackBerry is not just a communication device that helps deliver information on the go and impact business positively, it is perceived as a luxury. …

Gadhafi - Libya's flamboyant, mecurial ruler.

Once called the "mad dog of the Middle East," Libya's often

flamboyantly dressed ruler, Moammar Gadhafi, has ruled the north African

nation for 42 years.

But Libya's 679,362 square miles and 6.4 million people have rarely seemed enough for Gadhafi, who in 2008 gathered a group of African tribal leaders and had them grant him the

lofty title, "King of Kings."

It was part of his campaign for a unified Africa -- a single federation with a million-man army at its…

If Jonathan were Igbo

For more than four decades, the Nigerian oligarchy and its subjects

have been strutting on, as if the Igbo nation does not exist. Of

course, we do not need the powers of a clairvoyant to let us know

that Ndigbo are a conquered people. This is not the issue at hand.

What I am talking about here presents a pungent and poignant question

which borders on fair play, equity, justice and political correctness

or lack of it in the Nigerian context.

For good or… Continue

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH..............ADAMU CIROMA & HIS LUNATIC NPLF!!!!!

It is not acceptable that we should encourage the like of Adamu Ciroma and his NPLF gangsters to continue holding our dear country Nigeria to hostage because of their selfish interests. It is belittling the office of the president and the mandate that PDP has given Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to run for the presidency to have gone begging this spent forces to accept him before he could contest the april presidential election when it is obvious that Nigerian has spoken their minds…

The Political Play that Kept Bayelsa State Dow

Political office holders seeking renewal of their mandate must lay bare their record of performance scrutiny for all to see and judge them by the votes they will cast during the elections .It was in the course of such a research that one stumbles into so much evidence to buttress the fact that Bayelsa State was kept down in the development index because of power play amongst contending leaders of this oil rich state. At a glance one is tempted to pass through the escapist…

WHY PDP WIN ELECTIONS IN NIGERIA

WHY PDP WINS ELECTIONS IN NIGERIA

By Nwokedi Nworisara

Someone gave me a call after my recent appearance on AIT programmes focus on Nigeria live and demanded reasons why I seem to have shifted from being an opposition figure to supporting the ruling party in Bayelsa State.”How can you explain it to your dedicated readers?’ He fumed. I corrected that I had not changed my views, nor made a u-turn from any thing I wrote or said. Instead, what is playing out is the Nigerian… Continue

Shame on Apostles of Insecurity in Bayelsa State

Even before the ink was due to dry in my article “Why PDP Win elections in Nigeria”, we already have an explosion in Bayelsa state to prove that this stage of the heinous plot is at hand. Don’t be carried away by this publicity stunt designed to create the impression that there is unjust political atmosphere and insecurity for the opposition in the state because nothing is farthest from the truth. Of…

By Nwaorgu Faustinus

Prince Tonye Princewill, the leader of Princewill Political Associates (PPA) has dropped the idea of suing Dr. Abiye Sekibo, following an appeal from the women leader of PPA, Mrs. Wele Edith who said that it had become necessary in the spirit of the efforts of the reconciliation Committee recently inaugurated by Rt. Revolution, Is Impossible In Nigeria? Some Say NEVER! Says Who?

Revolution, Is Impossible In Nigeria? Some Say NEVER! Says Who?

Written by Paul I. Adujie

Since the political and constitutional upheaval in Tunisia, then followed by Egypt and now Libya, Jordan, Bahrain, Yemen and so on, some Nigerians have publicly commented that Nigerians can only dream of Egyptian and Tunisian style revolutions and political uprising. Some Nigerians have even gone to the unreasonable extent of…

Nigerians speak for geninue change

INEC spent so much money on registration of voters yet voter still had to laminate their voters card. many centers in Surulere where i live have no lamination machine. my friends at Ketu and Bariga complained of the same thing.Does it mean that lamination cost was not included in the huge money FG voted for them? i t would be appropriate if the money can be accounted for. WHEN WILL NIGERIANS LEARN AND GROW?

Path to simple live in Nigeria

Is there a path to simple life in Nigeria? I found it hard to live simple. I refused to watch TV or buy a car. But when i bought my bicycle i found out it can only take me so far and our buses dont have room to transport my bike when i am tired from riding it. Plus we hardly have side walks in our country. On TV, my friends have complained about coming to my house with no TV to watch. But i told them i need their undivided attention when they come over. I have moved from Lagos to Osun state…
