Champions for Nigeria (CFN), a registered global organisation, based in the United Kingdom wishes to pronounce our unalloyed solidarity and support for the government of Governor Babatunde Fashola, Executive Governor of Lagos State. In the face of orchestrated campaign of calumny against the best civil administration and governance in the political stratosphere of Nigeria in recent times,… Continue

Time to wake a sleeping Giant...

...Calling on Gov. Fashola to revive Stores.

Stationery (Super) Stores, one of Nigeria's biggest clubs, have been in a state of coma for years and years now, thus depriving Lagos, Nigeria largest city, of a top flight club.

Much as Julius Berger, First Bank, Niger Dock and later NPA, have tried, they never could equal the following ascribed to Stores, which ran into millions of fans.

I remember watching the 1990 FA cup final between Stores and Enugu… Continue

"Supper-Eagle's woe in Angola"

Humiliation, humiliation, humiliation, was the aftermatch sounds and feelings felt by the Nigerians when the dull supper-Eagle team lost to Ghana yesterday. "It ain't cool" watching some of these over-weight Nigerians players on the pitch. They just don't look like pro footballers to me. A true baller must not exceed 67kg and must be phisically fit,but almost all the present Nigerian players are not fit for a pro game. Their legs k-bended instead of that curved legs you see in drogba and other… Continue

As Nigeria move irretrievably towards fundamental changes occasioned by recent events-a sick absentee President, a Constitution that is self contradictory leading to a vacuum in power despite the fact that there exists a willing Vice President and a National Assembly with hands seemingly tied; a ruling party unable to rise above sectional interests in resolving national problems and failing state unable to abide by the multilateral and bilateral agreements with the international community, the… Continue

The Jos Crisis Culprits known and to be soon Brought to book?

Here we are again with a newspaper report (Guardian of today, 26/1/10) assuring us that "THE Plateau State Police Command yesterday admitted that it knows the identity of the culprits in the latest Jos crisis, pledging that they will all be brought to book." Next thing now may be setting up of a panel to try them. While such panel will be investigating, the issue may be overtaken by other events and will soon be forgotten. Rotational Presidency, Rotational Looting

Those who support a rotational presidency rely on the old argument that because Nigeria is a mosaic a rotational presidency offers the only possibility for peaceful existence. Indeed, Mr. Anthony Akinola uses this argument in his article, “Rotational presidency can stabilize Nigeria,” published in The Guardian on December 31, 2009. To take the position that only a rotational presidency can bring peace to Nigeria, suggests that Mr. Akinola does not understand the implications of basing his… Continue

self Confidence

Self Confidence is a key factor in the success equation.

It is easy to get demoralized, frustrated and resentful if you lack self-confidence.

Marcus Garvey once remarked “if you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life. With confidence, you have succeeded even before you have begun”

Self Confidence is concerned with how a person feel’s about his ability.

A successful entrepreneur always believes in his dreams and abilities.

He is not scared… Continue

I just traveled back from Asaba using the Asaba-Benin express road and I was amazed at the number of road blocks on that route. I love the police presence on that road and in fact aside from the usual menace of twenty and fifty naira syndrome which the police force has gotten itself synonymous with, I really don’t mind them. Did I hear you say one mans meat is another mans poison? Oh yes, I know the private transporters wont feel this way, but let the truth be said, the men and officers are… Continue

Free health care schemes have been used by governments across the country and indeed the world to assist in areas where the millennium development goals can be enhanced. It is also a way politicians have employed to create and get popular support from their people. Although the continuity after every change of guard has been lacking in our Nigeria of today, it still remains a veritable way to assist the poor and at risk in our society. Free health care schemes can be seen mostly in the areas of… Continue

In response to the anomaly of increasing income coexisting with increasing poverty in Nigeria, I embarked on a close observation of the operation of the national economy sometime in 2001, and discovered that the root cause of our problem was the subsisting monopoly of the CBN in the supply of both the dollar and naira… Continue
