We need more of this rally. Nigerians have been too docile and complacent. We are always taken for a ride because they know we will keep quiet even if we are being shot. I implore well meaning Nigerians to keep enlightening our people on the need to voice out and embark on non-violent mass actions. By the time we do this regulary in conspicuous places, one day things will be grounded and the tyrants will be forced to listen and behave. However, we must back these rallies by electoral actions. Come 2011, we should not only come out to vote for the best candidates, we must monitor our votes and gurad them jealously. Nigeria and Nigerians do not deserve what we've been experiencing and what we are experiencing now. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good ranting from a suffering soul. Your presumption is that the Nigerian government is based on democracy, this is far from the truth as the present dispensation is "Ratocracy". You know what our elders says about the rat: " If the rat is unable to eat the beans, it will throw it away". That is what is going on the country. The politician are the rats and they are seriously eating from the beans of the incapacitated presidency and are ready to resist any change in the staus quo. Hence the masses donot have a say in the what is going on in the country rather our 'elected' representatives believe in the power of the party chieftain who are vast in the science of ridging acnd subverting justice. Therefore, Nigerians will continue to be incapacitated until we are ready to fight the supremacy of our political party and god fatherism. For this to happen, we requires a man who posses the wisdom of the Hausa-Fulani Hegemony; the foresight of Awolowo; the oratory power of Azikwe; the uncompromising attitude of Onitsha fake drug merchant; the cunning nature of Oyo/Ibadan people; the brutality of the Niger delta militant and /or the smuggler/gun runner; and the selflessness of Murtala Muhammed. If we cannot find such a man, the only option is universal, total, terrible destruction of the present polity and the emergence of a modified fedralism c** socialism. But Nigerians are no ready for a revolution. Thus, we will continue the process of "suffering and smiling.

The event unfolding in Nigeria nowadays have been so depressing as we watched from 93000 miles. The vacuum in the sit of power, corrupt public servant, corrupt legislators, corrupt polititian and the upgrade in the Nigeria intinery from 419 to terrorism to mention but those few. What is sad in this whole saga confronting Nigeria is; all these individuals and there family formenting or causing all these chaotic atmosphere in Nigeria, have "PLAN B". By this, I mean't, when the see that the country as at the bring of destruction, they will pack all there donkeys (their families) and JET out of the country untill another favorable condition unsued. the innocent people will end up paying for their life. Why do fellew citizen allow these crook called politicians. to degrade the integrity of that country. Democracy is a beautiful tools if used appriopriately. You have the power to vote all these people out and replace them with someone you think will represent your welfare. If anyone pays you for a vote. You should know right there and out that the individual has one stricke against him. we are right here working so hard to improve the image of that country. But, all these immora l traits by all these greedy and silly politician really, is not accentuated asset. There is a constitution, follow the rules. A man who suffered a stroke will not regain 100% of his pre-stroke ability cognitively and physically. I stand ready challenged by anyone in that country to prove me otherwise. After, suffering sec. stroke. In my prfessional oppinion, the country should move on with someone new. Long live federal republic of Nigeria.

The truth of the matter is that Yar adua and most past Nigerian presidents especially Yar adua is not qualified to be president of a country. He is physically and intellectually slow for the job, I'm not surprised his nick-name is baba-go slow. Nigeria is far behind in almost everything, what we need is a "Ben bullet Johnson" to take us to the promise land in good time not a "snail" who will take forever to get us to the promise land. Our greatest problem is that of followership, now is the time for followership to lead our visionless leaders.

This is important in this revolution, not for handing over baton as some have reduced it but for liberation of Nigeria from the tyranny of governance by usurpers. Now the world knows there is a Nigeria that detests suicide bombing at Christmas days,a Nigerian leadership that is credible and that they have been dealing with impostors all along thereby creating a terrorist state that turns around to haunt them. Now we all know that the so called president was handpicked by former President Obasanjo as he confirmed with his mouth thereby stripping away any legitimacy remaining with the government and the ruling party which confirms them as impostors. From this moment any foreign government that deals with this government will have itself to blame.

That is a good move on the right direction. For how long shall we continue to do the" suffering and smiling "of a thing. The struggle has began,it would be peaceful, violent and at time bloody. We shall continue to press on. Nigeria and Nigerians are blessed but our so called leaders who are standing on our ways must be held to account.

it is hypocritical for some people to compare the jos riot with yardua's awol. it is like comparing orange with banana. yardua and his cronies should just accept that Nigeria is a republic and not a monarchy.yardua's main backer has said it all: yardua should just quit on account of his illhealth. he was never for a day fit to rule Nigeria.his main backer knew this all along but he just wanted to prove that he could bo and undo when he forced yardua down our throat in a bogus election.

People are just giving kudos when they should talk of how to join this rally. Some hypocrites are even giving advices on kicking out hooligans from the rally.Nigerians talk too much but shy away from doing the right thing which is filing out in millions and joining the rally. The voice of the people is the voice of God
Comment by Mr. John Okeke on January 22, 2010 at 1:09pm
The struggle has just began. Our leaders are insensitive to the plight of the masses. Leadership is all about service to the people that one is leading. It is only in Nigeria that none have ever resign from office, they rather die in office than resign. The time of rekonning has come. Those who make peaceful change impossible, make violent revolution inevitable. God help Nigeria.
