Will the North walk out on us???
1967 Biafra was declared by the the then governor general of the Eastern region Col Ojukwu,reasons being that the igbos were being marginalized and many were being killed in the North.The North is feeling very bad now,intelligence report shows that anything can happen in Nigeria between now and 2015 as the North hope to get power back at all cost.Do you think that the North will pull out of Nigeria in 2015 if they fail to capture back power? if they decide to pull out and declare their Republic,will we miss them? will u fight to keep Nigeria together? Let's have a sensible discussion...

that possibility is highly unlikely. i think all the noise emanating from the north is for some unsuspecting guy to take the fall and the blame. remember in 1967 the north first muted the secession idea but left the east to carry the can. the north to separate from nigeria? not long as there is the oil wealth in the south-south.

That is unthinkable. The North cannot walk away from this federation because they need the South more that the South needs them.

Unthinkable, when they depend on the south for oil. The only way they will opt to pull out is if and only if they discover oil in the north. Already they are seriously looking for oil in the Chad basin and govt has granted them the oil exploration commission. But come to think of it, it will be better if they go, that way we will be asble to know which region is at fault.

Even if they get oil in Chad Basin as they have been hoping, the commercial quantity of it is another issue. In any case, I think that we shall be better of without the North. They have brought terrorism into the country in defense of their so called religion. In fact, if they pull out, the better for us all.
