It all started when the topic of islamic banking was brought up. Some say it is a plan to islamise nigeria, and other are yet to give their reasons because there is none. Islamic bank means non interest banking, and it has branches in all developed countries includin uk and the states. These countries respects religious rights and operate the banks because they know it is not a threat, instead it is a way of boosting their economy. Islamic countries are rich in oil and other minerals, if they invest in a country that operates islamic banks, think of the gains in it. Not only the muslims would benefit, the christians as well. Today, the whole world is laughing at us, they are saying we still have a long way to go

Well sir, how i wish others would reason like you, have respect for other's view. I was just bn entitled 2 my opinion. All i was tryin to prove was things dont always look like they sound, atleast sharing ur view is not forcing one to believe it but understand it. I am quiet young, searved last year and just started workin as an architect in my own firm. U know why? Because i have respect for people's feelings and wld like to be incharge of my own life. I agree with u abt the country's instability, but if we want to learn more then we should listen to others. Islam legalised profitable banking only when there is no non-profit ones, nw that we re abt 2 hav one they rejected it, is it fair?

What are we fighting for through the media? Introduction of the islamic bank or the rejection of the bank. Look, Mustapha, islamic banking has its good side just as it has its bad side. We should not say because countries like uk adopted the system so we must adopt it too. Every nations knows its problems and how to deal with it. Uk is a developed country with a stable religious history not like ours. We are developing and have had history of religious diferrences, so dont blame anybody for hating the islsmic banking system. In my view, if the introduction of the system is heating the polity, lets shelve it until we all agree on it. Nobody should foist on us as a national issue cos Nigeria is a secular state.

Well Mustapha, I refuse to understand.  I wonder why there is so much noise about this bank.  If the muslims have no secret plans to islamize this country, why wouldn't they forget the idea since it has not received popular support?  It is another gimmick like the OIC registration.
Where do u stand? Let me guess....u re wit the people i'm talkin abt right? Or maybe u re jst so senseless that u want 2 hurts others by ur words, or u might be tryin 2 get over something but ur ego wldnt let u. Mustpha, I don't care whatever you say or write.  I am expressing my opinion because I am concerned.  The Sultan did not weigh his words before he went to the press.  You read it and you never said anything because it the muslim agenda.

Efe, thank God that men like you are members of this community.  You see in this life, what I don't like is people trying to foist there beliefs on someone else.  We have been using this medium to share our thoughts sincerely and without prejudice.  But it appears Mustapha misunderstood my line of argument hence he started the media war.  I don't know him and all he says don' t really bother me.  I still maintain my stand that if there is anything we need in this country at this moment when the polity is heated up, when Boko Haram is terrorising the citizenry and preaching the sermon of islamization in the country, it is certainly not Islamic banking.  My stand is clear and I don't care who feels hurt by it.

What are we fighting for through the media? Introduction of the islamic bank or the rejection of the bank.
