The Honourable Commissioner for Youth Political Participation at the Pan-African Youth Union, Ambassador Oladele Nihi has urged Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, to stop disobeying court orders and free the arrested former President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Barrister Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere.
The Pan-African Youth Commissioner made this known, Friday while noting with dismay the flagrant disobedience of the police force to the court order by Justice Othman Musa of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, Abuja.
"The arrest of Barrister Ikenga yesterday night in his residence in Abuja is a total disrespect and disregard to the Federal Capital Territory Court order of June 3, 2020 where the court barred the police and Department of State Services from arresting him," he said.
According to Ambassador Nihi, it is a matter of deep concern and national embarrassment that the Police has chosen to brazenly disobey this order of the court and arrested Barrister Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere.
"On behalf of the over 70Million Nigerian Youths, I demand the unconditional release of Barrister Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere within the next 24hours or we will be left with no option but to come out en masse and protest against his unlawful arrest" he concluded.
