Poverty nd superiority complex. They have hands, legs and brains but cannot use them judiciousl for economic gain rather they prefer to liive on handouts.
Also the elders and the elites bask in the euphoria of reverence and veneration and would not want to be chastise and equalled so the mislead and decieve their people through their imams and emirs using religion as a springboard

Do not be drawing conclution on the matter u knew not. to enter islam is never by force if one wish he can nd if he dont is his choice. so the issue of islamising the north are all false if not churches wld hav not beee allowed in places like sokoto, zamfara nd many other states in d north where no single indigenous family is known to be xtristians. majority of the xtristians are non indegene yet they practice their relgion wtout any problem which is practically impossible for the muslims in many xtristian dominated areas in the country. so please be sincere in your comment do not go beyond ur limit of knowledge about islam nd muslims.

Nigerian goverment are place too much important on religion, and our goverment are shifting their responsiblitis to God. When a poor man is down with typhoid he is ask to pray and fast, but when a rich man especialy the the politician, is having cold he is flowing overseas for medical check up. The poor man is ask to pray to God for security, but the rich man is given security guards, escort, with bulletprove cars.

Religion is a Business! When you are a trader and you have someone encroaching on your territory what do you do?
This is what is happening and I am always taken aback when the learned peoples cannot understand it. It is not about tolerance; it is about you trying to take away MY CUSTOMERS AND MY LIVELIHOOD; hence, they have to fight to protect their MARKETS!
When I did marketing, this is what my tutor told us. Out there is a war going on and the winner will be the one with the best product! When you analyse it, you find the statement to be true!
MARKET = BATTLEGROUND = CUSTOMERS, WHICH IS YOU AND I!
WEAPON = PRODUCTS = FAITH. WHICH IS CHRISTIANITY AND ISLAM!
WINNER OF MARKET SHARE = ONE WITH BEST (WEAPONS) PRODUCT= AMMUNITIONS BY HARAM
This is what is happening in the North. The Islamists are worried that the Christians are encroaching into their market share. They believe it would affect their profits (contributions/arms/tithe) which means the BOTTOM LINE WILL SUFFER!
The North was predominantly Moslem before it was opened up by Lord Lugard and the Missionaries. The Moslems were there first because of the trade across the Sahara Desert with the Arabs. This was also how the slave trade started before the white folks came in! With the SILLY envangelism going on at the moment due to the lack of employment, Christians are trying to expand in the North and this is why Boko Haram are against it!
To fix the problem, the States have to increase employment so that peoples do not have time for this foreign religious invasion of our country. When members of Boko Haram are fully employed, they will not have the time for activism. Also, when the fake Pastors have employment in their graduated field, they will also have no time for preacing the so called gospels! So my dear brothers and sisters, Senators, Governors, Councilmen, and the President, the way to resolve the problem is to PROVIDE FULL EMPLOYMENT SO THAT ALL THE TROUBLE MAKERS ARE GAINFULLY EMPLOYED WHICH WILL NOT GIVE THEM TIME FOR MISCHIEF MAKING!
I know they will not listen to me because I am a Nigerian! Imagine watching A member of the government telling the Elected that they will be given a book written by a foreigner about a foreigner - Sir Lee Kwan Yue FATHER OF SINGAPORE; instead of a book or books written by Nigerians About Nigeria's problem! This is the Colonial Slavery Mentality that really annoys me to no end! Writers such as Wole Shoyinka, Sam Epelle, Tai Solarin, etc, have written about Nigeria and our problemsbut their books have not been recommended for reading by our supposedly educated elected members! Until we REJECT this slave mentality - One That Says All Foreign Is The Best, WE WILL NEVER PROGRESS AND REMAIN ALWAYS EDUCATED IGNORANTS!

Yes they practice their religion amid persecution. Moslem youths rampage, destroy churches and kill Christians, but how many times have christians burned down churches and killed moslems? Let us tell our selves the truth for once, Islamic religion does not accommodate other religions. But rememeber man cannot fight for God/Allah.

Freedom of religion is one of the rights of every citizen. But we should practice it with respect to other people's feelings and aspirations. Religion is a person thing and so not in any way come in the way others conduct their own private affairs.

Yes, religion is a private thing like SEX that is why IT SHOULD ONLY BE ALLOWED TO BE PRACTISED IN THE INDIVIDUAL'S HOME! NOB ODY IS BEING DENIED ANY OF THEIR RIGHTS IF THEY PRACTISE RELIGION IN PRIVATE SINCE IT IS A PRIVATE THING LIKE SEX!
