Political violence ‘ll continue unless…. – Sultan

Coming from such a highly respected religious leader like the Sultan, this statement is a welcome development to a country that have seen violence too many. The fact that the political elites are the architect of these violent reactions is well know. The only solution to stopping these carnage is by holding them accountable for their deeds. For all these years, no single individual have been held responsible for all the carnage and killings that have been witnessed in this nation. The perpetrators of these atrocities are still at large and among us. The Sultan should go further by setting machinery in motion to educate his subjects across the region, on the need to avoid being used by these politicians for their selfish gains. As the supreme leader of the Muslim community in the country, he owe this much to his people. This is the only way, his campaign would be meaningful, and his deeds be remembered. Who knows, he might yet be the next Ahmadu Bello.........God bless Nigeria.

Quite an apt write up.  There is no doubt that the elite among us especially those in the political class are the masterminds of the many violence that this country has witnessed and as you rightly pointed out, no one of them has been held accountable for their deeds.  We can only live to see a better and violent-free Nigeria if those who are so consummated by power retrace their steps and resolve to do things right.
Thats exactly why I thought the comment by the Sultan should be commended. We need more religious leaders like him to speak up against these vices. But you can be sure to see that most of these evils are being supported by these religious leaders in connivance with the politicians on both sides of the divide. Thereby playing politics of religion, and destroying the future of the Nigerian youth. These days, the average Nigerian youth cannot relate well with others of different tribe or religion due to the the bad blood that has been spilled among them. May God help Nigeria.

There are the ills that must be corrected if Nigeria must make meaningful progress and if there must be tolerance in the society.
