On Saturday night a car fell into Mekwe lagoon close to Bonny Camp in Lagos, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA confirmed one woman dead.

The deceased identified as one Chinagorom Adibe Fustine died after the car fell into the lagoon at Mekwen Bridge Bonny Camp inward Marina on Saturday night at about 7:47 in the evening.

Speaking with newsmen, Ibrahim Farinloye, the National Emergency Management Agency Spokesman in Lagos said that the car with registration number MUS 38 BL, had two persons in hit when the accident occurred.

The NEMA Spokesman said “A car with two passenger fell into Mekwe river close to Bonny Camp in Lagos Island on Saturday evening”

The car was recovered with a dead woman inside but her driver who identified himself as Felix Aniele survived unhurt has he swam out of the river while Chinagorom Abide Fustine was trapped in the car.
