Permalink Reply by Anthony Martin Okafor on February 24, 2011 at 7:09pm Circumstances can make one a single parent. Such circumstances include death of spouse, divorce, or one is a victim of rape. In any of these circumstances, single parenthood is unavoidable. But where a young man or woman refuses to marry and instead go ahead to make babies from different women/men, that is not acceptable. It portends danger in the long run.
Permalink Reply by Anthony Martin Okafor on February 24, 2011 at 7:10pm How can anyone support single parenthood? I might be wrong but i think no one started out as a single parent. It was thrust upon many of us. I submit that single parents should be accepted, supported and assisted in whatever ways possible in raising the children. Its not easy and the reasons might not be what we think.
Permalink Reply by Anthony Martin Okafor on February 24, 2011 at 7:10pm it depends on what u mean by that.a widow with children,a widower,a victim of rape or a victim of domestic violence could all be single parents.there is nothing wrong with single parenthood if it is un avoidedable.what i dont like is the idea of young women getting themselves pregnant b/c they cant put up living with a man there by denying the child the joy of 2 parent family.
