Partnership For Sustainable Peace.
The Rector of the St. Felix Catholic Seminary, Ejeme-Aniogor in Aniocha South LGA of Delta State Nigeria, Very Rev.Fr. Francis Onwordi Jnr. has called on Nigerians, particularly Deltans to exploit all available means to engage our youths in meaningful ventures that will instill discipline and statemanship to enable them contribute to societal development as they grow up to be good leaders of the future as good citizens thereby resulting in sustainable social economic growth and peaceful coexistence of our country Nigeria.
Very Rev. Fr. Francis Onwordi Jnr. gave the charge during the inauguration and investiture of the St. Felix Seminary Scout Group, Ejeme-Aniogor in Aniocha South LGA of Delta State. He further explained that the future of Nigeria will be brighter if the youths of today inherit a good legacy that will make them to be disciplined, law abiding and resourceful.
He commended the Delta State Scout Council under the leadership of the Honorable Chief Judge of Delta State and President, Delta State Scout Council for accepting to establish a Scout group the Seminary.
The investiture ceremony was administered on the young Seminarians by the District Scout Commissioner in charge of Aniocha South LGA, Mr. Fidelis Nwandu after reciting the Scout Promise.
The Honorary Secretary of the Delta State Scout Council, Comrade Agbagoro Landlord-Lawrence, who represented the state council at the historic event applauded the Rector of the St. Felix Seminary for his ideology and youth development initiatives for giving more meaning to the life of the young Seminarians. The Honorary Secretary informed all present at the ceremony that the Scout movement is the leading educational youth movement in the world with over 50 million active members. He asserted further that the government of Delta State has special interest in the development of young people and thereby gave an approval for the establishment of Scout groups and training of teachers in all public and private schools in Delta State.
The highlight of the event was a presentation of drama showcasing survival and ambulance skills with the use of their Scout uniform as an improvised First Aid materials in an emergency situation ably led by the Acting Group Scout leader of the Seminary, Seminarian Osimobi Michael.
