lagos flood

july 10 am sure is a day so many people wont 4get becos of the torrential rain that swept almost the whole part of lagos.lifes,properties,nd buildings were lost on that day bcos of this rain.till today many people re homeless! Wat do you is the main solution to this situation?

Flooding is principally caused by two major factors: Tampering with natural water flow channels by way of blockage- errection of houses on natural water flow channels, poor provision of water channels and over flowing of river banks. If we look at it closely you discover that corruption played a major part in the whole scenario. Bribes were offered to government officials to approve buildings in areas that ordinary houses should not be errected. Now the poor masses bear the brunt. Government should be pro-active in disaster management to minimize the loss of lives and property since absolute control may not be possible.
