After thousands of party members had trooped out across the state to cast votes that suggested Mr. Jide Sanwo-Olu, the main challenger to incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode was leading by a landslide, the NWC dismissed the exercise, announcing a fresh election would be held at a “fresh time and date but later cancelled."

Sanwo-Olu enjoys the endorsement of the party’s National Leader Bola Tinubu, who is the state’s political godfather and Ambode’s estranged benefactor.

The table  turns against Ambode as he steps on hot fire, after news broke out that, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee primary election panel for Lagos, has declared Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the winner of Tuesday’s governorship primary in the state.

“At the end of the exercise, the following votes were scored by the respective aspirants: one, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode 72,901 votes. The other aspirant, Babajide Sanwo-olu, scored 970,851 votes.

Ambode the current lagos state governor who is under going more pressure from his party APC and his godfather Tinubu, says he is not disturbed if not coming back as the Lagos state governor. According to him he has done well that those that have eyes will see his good works.
