You have definitely given answer to your question. However one man's meat is another man's poison. I have always said that you just read a course because Mr. A is reading it or Mr. B who read it is doing well or because your parents want you to.. Read a course based on your personal conviction and passion. Not all medical doctors are doing well. Some who are not doing well in medicine today would have done well if they had read some other courses.
I'm a graduate of agric from umudike. I once went for a FADAMA (an agric project ) job interview after searching for job for many yrs. Because i ve a B.Agric degree, i ws hopeful. Do u kno wot happened at last? Girls that studied english lit got the job and i didnt. So its not the course but the corruption in the system.

the values placed on this course in nigeria is too low,so i disagree on the topic
Studying the course is not the problem but the apathy of people towards the course. People generally think that as an agriculturist your place is in the farm and this attitude has made the course what it is today. On the other hand the government has not really encouraged studying the course. Priority and not lip service should be emphasized on the sector to encourage people who study the course.
@Francis, l quite disagree with u. Agric is nt d only course dt can make one self-reliant. What about mgmnt and science courses? By d way is it not obvious dt doz who hold sway in agric sector never studied d course in d university? In as much as l am not disputing d fact d course is good like every other courses, it is not d only self reliant course.
