Through his death mankind was reconciled to God.  His resurrection gave us hope of  new life in Christ both here and in the hereafter and also gave us the boldness to preach Christ as the only one who has power over death, sickness and all the troubles of life and finally his ascension into heaven gave us the hope that we shall reign with him after our life here on earth.  But only and if only we live in accordance with his will.
