DO WE HAVE TO SAY TRUTH EVERY TIME?

The great Uthman Dan Fodio of blessed memory said that 'conscience is an open wound, only truth can heal it'. But one dreaded question is ; are we suppose to tell truth every time?. Some say yes, while some say no, some are indefferent because they believe that to live with people husbands, wives, colleagues, bosses, subordinate even as a politician who wants to rule people, one need to blend truth with lies! So what do you feel?

NIGERIANS!!!. 143 people have viewed this topic and non have replied.That will tell you the stupor we are in.A very courrupt society. It is very difficult in this country to be truthful,even 95% of the so-called men of God lie.What I do is to make sure that I do things in such a way that it will be impossible for me to lie to colleages,friends,clients etc.Why we lie most times is because of indiscipline.We use lies to cover up.But in love relationship ,what I do is that instead of hurting my parthner by telling the truth, I can just plead for her not to ask me.

Truth has no counterfeit.  It is either you say it and dam the consequences or you don't say it at all.  But do not mix truth and lie. It belittles your personality.

There was a crisis in which certain people were being killed bcos of their ethnic group.A number of them escaped nd sought refuge in my house. I then hid them smwhere in my backyard. Soon d killers came knocking at my door.I am a well respected person even by d killers. 'where are they?' d killers asked.'who?' I replied.'The bastards!' They are not here. I lied to save d innocent people. This is an hypothetical situation of a good lie;Charles .

                  What about a man who was tempted by his secretary and he eventually gave in to temptation. He told his wife when he reached home and the wife went straight to a magistrate court to file for divorce? Don't you think that the man should have kept his mute and decide not to fall into such temptation again in his life? Some men even advise young groom never to declare his financial status to women because women don't like truth in this aspect, if you tell them the truth, then they keep demanding!
