The Delta State Police Commissioner Mr. Hafiz Inuwa has inaugurated a ten man Executive Committee of the Delta State Command's Police Community Relations Committee PCRC.
The inauguration which took place on Tuesday 27th of February, 2020 was held at the Hall of Celebration along Okpanam road, Asaba the Delta State Capital.
His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the Executive Governor of Delta State was the Special Guest of Honour.
In an address delivered by the outgoing Chairman Chief Ambassador Dr. Odet Emo JP A.ka. "Bravo", charged the new Exco to be up and doing by living up to expectations adding that there's no compromise in the business of security. Chief Emo who said she has been in the PCRC since decades list some of her achievements ranging from building of DPO Offices and officers Mess, furnishing of of DPOs offices in some commands and divisions within the state from their personal lean resources without any government assistance. She solicit for government support to the PCRC adding that the Delta State PCRC has not enjoyed government support since its inception. The outgoing Chairman commended the Commissioner of Police for his rapid achievement within the few period of assuming office in Delta State.
While inaugurating the Exco, the Delta State Police Commissioner of who was duly represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration and Finance, Mrs. Anyasinti assured that the Delta State Police Command good working relationship to enhance quality delivery of security services which is their statutory obligation. The Commissioner of Police commended the outgoing Exco for their cooperation and cordiality and promised to continue to extend same for the purpose of achieving the desired peace and security in the state.
Ambassador Marshall Prosper Ojoh, the Chairman in his speech applauded his Predecessor Chief Ambassador Odet Emo JP who have used her personal resources both financial and material resources to run and promote the PCRC over the years. Ambassador Ojoh expressed with delight, full confidence on the administration of the Governor Okowa's administration and commended the governor for his achievements in in terms of the rapid development of infrastructures, promoting peace and security most especially the recent donation of over forty vans to security outfits in state to enhance crime fighting and for appointing one of their own as Executive Assistant on Police Relations.
Ambassador Ojoh used the medium to appeal to the Delta State Government to allocate grants and resources for the PCRC while assuring the government of their total commitments towards a good synergy with the Police, the government and the grassroot.
In a speech by the Delta State Governor Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa who was ably represented by his Special Adviser on Peace Building and Rural Development, Chief Edwin Uzor JP noted the humanitarian services rendered by the PCRC.
The Special Adviser added that this administration is will work with all Stakeholders of security as it affects community Policing.
The newly inaugurated Exco have Ambassador Marshal Prosper Ojoh as Chairman, Comrade Eyefia Afornughe Oliver, Vice Chairman, Woman Inspector Edna Bassey, Secretary, Mrs. Esther Okoh, Treasurer and six others.
The PCRC Patrons who were invested includes Chief Johnbull Ejovi JP, Chief Mary Iyasere JP Special Adviser to Delta State Governor on Commerce and industry, Ogbueshi Paul Chike Oliko, Hon. Chief Faith Majemite, Executive Chairman, Ethiope East LGA of Delta, Hon. Macpherson Obenobe, Chief Okiemute Oviri JP, Olorogun S. Oguma, Mr. John Obie DSP rtd. and a host of others.
Dignitaries who graced the occasion includes Chief Mrs. Nkem Ukuofu, Chairman, Delta State Civil Service Commission, Eng. Dr. Enamuotor Blessing, Director, Delta Central Senatorial District of the Direct Labour Agency - DLA, Ambassador Hope George, Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Political Matters, The Delta State FRSC Sector Commander.
