To some non-Muslims, Islam is a religion of war and violence and its practitioners always canvass for war at any slightest provocation. They [non-Muslims] believe that war is one of the doctrines of the religion so they [Muslims] are not out of line whenever they become violence; they are just upholding one of the Islamic tenets!

This notion is very unfair especially to the true Muslims who see shedding of human blood as a sin as grievous as worshiping idols. Christian and Jews lived before Prophet Muhammad and also in his time and he never waged any war against them; he only waged war against pagans and ant pagan who decided to leave idol worship were totally allowed into Islam. All wars the prophet against them were as directed by Almighty Allah as written in chapter 9 of Holy Koran.

From time immemorial, God directed His prophets like David, Solomon,Moses and host of others except Jesus Christ to either wage war against unbelievers or find a way to deliver His people from the shackles as in the case of Moses. Can we now say the Prophet Muhammad SAW waged against pagans was unjustifiable?

Islam is an Arabic word that means peace;it does not mean war. Almighty Allah is capable of fighting for Himself and can destroy the whole world when and if He so desire; Sodom and Gomorrah is a clear example. He can do it in a microsecond and does not need any mortal being to fight for Him!

What is happening all over the world, as in the case of terrorism and also Boko Haram, to me, is more social-political than religious. The Middle East crisis is more political because Israel/Palestine is more on claim to ownership of land and participation in political affairs.

The problem in Northern Nigeria is a case of riff raffs and thugs being used by politicians to forment trouble. How can Muslims say Western education is forbidding when Arabs and Muslims all over the world are either learning or teaching in London, America and other western countries?

The prophet  himself told his followers that every Muslim should 'seek knowledge even as far as CHINA' . Also the Hadith says that 'seeking knowledge is compulsory for both male and female'.Where did these rogues get basis for their claims?

Mr. Oyewole, you are Youraba I suppose, you have a different understanding of your religion more than your hausa muslim brother.  To him, you are not a true muslim.

No one sees Muslims as enemies, but their general conduct makes them more of enemies than friends.

Tell them my brother. their perception of islamic religion is so awful that one get scared of himself as a Muslim.  Only God will help us in this world where people see one another as enemies because of religion. a world where people make direct judgement on other people's religion when they themselves never know whether they themselves will make Paradise!

Sometimes i wonder why we always try to bring or cook up something we know little or nothing about. Know something thoroughly before you conclude anything on it, Islam is the most beautiful, simple and fastest growing religion in the world, if it is not peacefull then why would people all over the world embrace it?, it is quiet obvious that boko haram is polgtically motivated and financed by not only muslims, they are also educated and wealthy, listen to yourself before you say ill about someone's religion because you are trying to eat what you can not chew. Islam is peace, and jihad has its meaning

If there is any, then it is a very thin line.

Hmmm! Well, its ok. I only want to say d 1st time I tried reading quran, all I could see is: destroy and kill unbelievers or infidels. The line btw islamism and violence is increasingly becoming blurred.
They keep deceiving themselves that their religion is peacful and that boko haram is not a religious sect. how come they keep burning churches not mosque and killing christians?
Do not get us wrong, since this topic started yesterday none of the us said ill about other's religion, and i am pretty sure you know only a little in yours if not you would have known that there is only a thin line separating islam and christianity, and believe me if u had visited the north, u never would have said this because burnt mosques are over 70% more than the churches, how would one burn a church that is attached to his house or shop? The media only feed u with lies and you just take it in like an illiterate, grow up and know the difference between right and wrong. Havent you ever thought of causing chaos with your words on air? What would happen to your relatives? Afterall you caused it

Mustapha, let me just say you belong to the elite group of moslems who think wisely and justly, probably due to your level of education. Like i said before if all moslems would behave and think like you and Oyewole then islam would be very beautiful. But unfortunately your likes are few. But let me ask where you got your stats that to burnt mosque are more than 70% that of burnt churhes? If you follow the crises in the north very well then you will know, without sentiments that your assertions are wrong
Yes boko harm might have political undertone but we cannot rule out islam from it, lets be candid to ourselves, otherwise why did the maiduguri govt screen clerics that will preach during this ramadan. The reason is not to instigate the adherents. Like i said, you belong to a minority elite group that will ignore their incitement, should such happen. Those that will listen to them, are dependent, low leveled and are in the majority.
